The acclaimed Shanghai Quartet will return to Guangzhou's Xinghai Concert Hall on July 17, kicking off the venue's Chamber Music Week 2025.

For this special performance, the quartet will collaborate with horn virtuoso Han Xiaoguang to perform Mozart's "Horn Quintet in E-flat major, K. 407", marking the first time the piece will be performed at Xinghai Concert Hall.
Following their widely praised 2024 collaboration with guqin master Chen Leiji, the Shanghai Quartet will once again explore the fusion of Eastern and Western musical traditions. Two traditional Chinese classics, "Wild Geese Descending on the Sandbank (平沙落雁)" and "Snow Over the Ba Bridge Willows (灞柳風(fēng)雪)", will be newly arranged for guqin and strings, offering audiences a unique musical dialogue.

Additionally, Shanghai Quartet has long been recognized for its interpretations of Beethoven's works. This concert will conclude with Beethoven's "String Quartet No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 131", a seven-movement masterpiece often described as the pinnacle of the late quartet style.
